PROJECT DETAILS
Highland Partnership, Inc. has been selected by Simplon Corporation to perform pre-construction and general contractor services for the Cosmopolitan Square mixed-use project with 211 condominiums, 17,000 square feet of retail space, and 12,000 square feet of office space on the 60,000 s.f. block bounded by J Street, 7th, 8th and Island avenues in San Diego’s East Village. The project will encompass an entire city block and include a new 3-bay, “essential services” Fire Station for the City of San Diego.
Highland has been contracted to provide extensive pre-construction services including scheduling, phasing plans, estimating, budget/cost modeling, bid packaging, and value engineering. Site preparation included hazardous materials abatement and demolition of ancillary buildings. The complexities of the Cosmopolitan Square project include a constrained site, structural challenges, cladding/façade, underground parking, underpinning, shoring and dewatering.
Highland will perform all construction management functions including scheduling, quality control, safety and subcontractor management, status reporting and change management.
