PROJECT DETAILS
A 37,000 square foot library, including literacy center, funded by a combination of City funds and funding through the California Library Construction and Renovation Bond Act. This unique bicultural facility includes state-of-the-art communications, security and other low-voltage systems. The unique design of the project by Ricardo Legorreta, including multi-color bold stucco forms, intricate stepped ceilings, courtyards, fountains, and extensive custom casework has been recognized through a National AIA Honor Award, and locally the recipient of a Grand Orchid. Ian M. Gill and Al deBerardinis of Highland were Project Executive and Project Manager, respectively.
